Hardscaping we build and repair
A patio or walkway is only as good as what is under it. Most sunken pavers and wobbly steps we get called to fix were laid on too little base, on soil that was never compacted, or with no edge restraint. We build every hardscape job from the ground up so it stays flat and tight for years.
- Paver and stone patios sized for how you actually use the space, from a small sitting area to a full outdoor dining patio.
- Walkways and steps from the driveway to the front door, around the side of the house or out to the back yard.
- Retaining walls to hold back a slope, level a yard or create raised planting beds.
- Resanding and joint repair for existing patios where sand has washed out, weeds have moved in or a few pavers have heaved.
How a hardscaping job works
- Call or text 609-332-8852 or send the estimate form with a short note on what you want built or fixed.
- We walk the property. We measure, check grade and drainage, look at access for equipment and material, and talk through paver styles and colors.
- You get a written price that lists the square footage, base depth, materials and any wall or step details, so you can compare it fairly.
- Work and cleanup. We excavate, lay and compact the base in lifts, set the pavers or stone, install edging, sweep in joint sand, and clean the site before we leave.
Why a proper base matters in New Jersey
Freeze and thaw cycles are hard on hardscape. Water that sits under a patio expands when it freezes and pushes pavers up, then leaves voids when it thaws. A compacted gravel base with the right depth and pitch lets water drain away instead of collecting. That is the step that decides whether a patio still looks right in five years.
Sandy soils in Pinelands towns like Medford drain fast but shift easily. Heavier soils closer to the Delaware River in Burlington and Riverside hold water. We adjust the base for what we find when we dig.
Repairs before replacement
Not every tired patio needs to be torn out. If the base is sound, lifting and resetting low spots, then resanding and power washing the whole surface can make it look close to new for a fraction of the cost. We will tell you honestly which option makes sense.
Pairs well with
Many patio jobs finish with new planting beds and mulch around the edges, and older pavers come back to life with power washing before resanding.
