Where we work in New Jersey

Phoenix Outdoor Services is a small, owner operated crew run by Kenneth. Most of our week is spent in Burlington County, with regular jobs in Ocean County and trips farther across South, Central and North Jersey for larger projects. This page is the starting point for every town we serve. Each town page explains the kind of properties we see there and the work people usually call us for.

Burlington County towns

• Moorestown, NJ: older homes, big shade trees and well kept beds along Main Street and the side streets around it.
• Maple Shade, NJ: compact lots, capes and ranches, and plenty of apartment and rental properties.
• Mt Laurel Township, NJ: HOA neighborhoods, townhome communities and office parks along Route 73.
• Medford, NJ: wooded Pinelands lots, lake communities and sandy soil.
• Hainsport, NJ: a small township on Route 38 with a mix of older homes and newer developments.
• Burlington, NJ: the historic city on the Delaware River and the newer neighborhoods of Burlington Township.
• Riverside, NJ 08075: river town twins, rowhomes and Victorians on small lots.

Ocean County

• New Egypt (Plumsted), NJ: rural lots, farms and horse properties where cleanups and tree work cover a lot of ground.

Two kinds of ground

New Jersey properties vary more than people expect, even inside one county. East and south toward the Pinelands, in towns like Medford, the soil is sandy and drains fast. Lawns dry out quickly, pine needles fill gutters, and pavers need a base that will not shift in loose sand. Closer to the Delaware River in Burlington and Riverside, soils are heavier and hold water, so drainage and patio base depth matter more. We plan every job for the ground it sits on.

What New Jersey seasons ask of a property

Spring is cleanup, mulch and planting season, and it fills up quickly. Summer brings heat and humidity that dry out beds and grow algae on shaded siding and walks, which is when power washing and trimming pick up. Fall is the best time for grass seed and shrub planting, then leaf cleanups run into December. Winter storms bring down limbs, and dormant season is the right time for most tree trimming.
